PRK

Sorry for my typos recently. I got PRK done, found out 3 days ago the drops they gave me I was allergic too. (talk about 2 weeks of hell) so in 3-4 months my eyes are back to bring semi-normal and 1 year full recovery. But DAMN its worth it. No more friggin glasses. I only had a few problems.

1) MY LT eye didn't numb so when they scraped off my cornea, I felt it. SUCKED.

2) Allergic to the drops... kept burning and stopping the healing.

3) My wifes hair got stuck in my eye over night and ripped it when I rolled over.

But thas it. cant drive at night... not supposed to use computer, read or be in bright areas. Have to wear sunglasses at ALL times outside or inside when eyes hurt. Drops every 15 minutes and lots of water. Cant exercise for 35 days... the usual crud.

If anyone is Active Duty... you can get it done at USAFA or Lackland. They have programs setup for you if you qualify since they always have opening for the surgery. LASIK and PRK. Contact me for more info.

Any visual side effects? I rely on my eyes for work (who doesn't right!) but even minor haloing of lights or ghosting could put me out of work. I'd love to ditch the glasses but I can't afford to not work if there are side effects. BTW I thought you were talking about the Peoples Republic of Korea with the acronym in the title.

There are always visual side effects. After surgery for atleast 7 days no tv, no reading, no computer... just rest. HALO, Ghosting, Starbursts are always a side effect at night after surgery. You are NOT allowed to drive at night during the first few weeks. You have to wear UV blocking sunglassea at ALL times when outside during the day or in bright rooms. Some people say they have no side effects after a few weeks. Light skin, Light hair and light eyes have the worst reactions to the PRK. And here I am being albino.

But its still worth it. So, you would miss some work and be restricted for awhile, but you might still be able to make it happen.

Duly noted, good sir! I hope you stop trying to peel your corneas off with your wife's hair. If you do though be sure to tape it for the nasty vid thread.

Haldf the problem was that I was allergic to the eye drops and they didnt test me. So for 2 weeks.. I was putting fire water in my eyes. Horrible... pain.

Now... its smooth sailing and I was pleased my wife still looked hott after my eyes were fixed

I got the personalized laser surgery from lazikmd in September. Best investment I ever made.

Hope your recovery goes without complications.

I'd love to get it done. I'll be at Lackland in May, but only for Basic.

I tried to get prk. The navy said I was just outside the limits to get the surgery. I still want it but it will be a while before I have that kind of cash.
