Probably too dense to carry and still be able to use in the few seconds you have. Would be a pretty nice thing to have just in case though.

My dad was in the same unit as a guy who got a Medal of Honor for jumping on a satchel charge tossed into his pillbox in Vietnam- he covered it with a flak jacket and lay down on it and when it went off he had some nasty facial injuries and some cracked ribs, but saved the other people in the pillbox with him.

I'm with Deuce, anything that goes "boom" as opposed to "bang" makes me shiver a little. It's a good thing most of them aim like crap and their barrels are mostly shot-out.

I'd like to think that I would react in a similar manner, but with my reaction time I probably would stand there like a dufus looking at it while my brain ran away screaming.
