Another gym thread.

Okay so im not unfamiliar with the gym, however I am still getting a hang of proper nutrition.

So my question is more towards what you are eating. I am eating a lot of canned tuna, eggs, and some veggies. I really need to step it up on the veggies as I know im not getting a proper daily intake.

I am also taking the following supplements.
Jet fuel (pre)
Jet fuze (pre)
BCAA (during)
Jet mass (post)

Typically I workout 3x per week as a lifting and somedays I do cardio.
I am looking here shortly to do cardio on all of my non lifting days (no treadmill though)

Is there any advice as for quick meals or some alternates?

If my routine mattes I will post it. I m not looking to just lose weight( I have already shed about 62 lbs)

chicken eggs veggie rice for me for dinner. lunch is a small meal of whatever i feel like so that's my feel-good food. i work out between the meals.

no supplements for me. you'd probably deflate as soon as you stop taking them so what's the point?

i do treadmills daily (or at least try to when the week is tough), and weight train a part of a body a day.

You don't need those supplements, they have a lot of bad crap in them.

There are a lot of resources for healthy eating and good workout schedules. I don't think a paintball forum predominantly full of fat old guys is going to be your best bet for advice.

I am a realist.

Congrats on your weight loss thus far! If you are hopelessly lost, PM me and I will try to point you in what will hopefully useful directions.

If I find myself in a bind I will eat a low sugar protein bar. The ones I have now have like 21 grams of protein and some 10 grams of sugar or so. Most have almost as much sugar as protein and that's a no no for me and my needs.

I just cook out my meals in the morning. Usually throw a chicken breast on and split it up into 2 mini entrees. A cup of spinach leaves, a fruit and another veggie. I was doing mixed nuts but I need to stay away from the fats, even though they are the good kind. To get the full value of spinach (and other veggies) then you need to see what they may need to be coupled with. Spinach, for instance, likes to be coupled with vitamin C. Beans and corn TOGETHER will give you the same type of protein you would get from chicken.

Sometimes I'll do a sandwich that is turkey, whole wheat, no mayo, no cheese, and a cup of spinach with some ranch spritz (like 2 calories a spritz)

I keep veggies in the freezer and buy them in the "steam in the bag" pouches. Throw it in the microwave while cooking the chicken in the morning and assort them. I use the 3 divider type of containers and a big lunch box. Looks silly carrying it around but it gets me my meals.

Takes me about 10-15 mins to actually cook and prepare all my meals for the day.

I hit the gym every day, here is my food consumption list, nothing scientific.

Breakfast:
Eggs or Peanut/Butter Sandwich

Workout:
2 mile on tread
1 hour weights (or 45 mins depending how fast i do 2 miles)

Lunch:
Protein Shake
1 glass of blended fruit, nothing but fruits.
Sandwich (no mayo)

Dinner:
Veggies
Chicken mostly

Remember though, it's not WHAT you eat, but your total consumption at the end of the day. That's the rule a lot of these Jenny Craig / Weight watchers programs follow.

To be honest, my family recently got a juicer, and it has been one of the biggest changes Ive ever made in my diet. We got to a local fruit stand and buy a lot of fruit and vegetables every other day, and make juice everyday in the morning. I end up "eating" cale, spinach, carrots, oranges, apples, pineapple, tomato, and more. And I drink a full glass every day. If you can mix in enough fruit it tastes sweet and is pretty good actually.

Also, lots of low fat high protein food like youre doing now is good. White meat, fish, etc...

I'd say drop the supplements and try to focus on eating plenty of proper food.

Fish, obviously, but stick to fatty fish (mackerel, tuna, anything wild caught and predatory).

Greek Yogurt is an incredible revelation. Add some flax seed and fresh berries to a container of Greek yogurt, and you have a delicious and incredibly nutritious meal packed with proteins and the good fats. It's also great as a base for smoothies.

I had to give up juice as part of my meal plan. That was the saddest day of my life. All I drink is juice and milk

That's especially the trouble with not dieting. A diet is temporary but a healthier lifestyle is more permanent and I miss my juice so much.

Supplement wise I take Dark Matter immediately after working out. It's like a gel by the time it hits water and it makes your poop green (blue raspberry) but I actually like the stuff as far as function.
