Boondock 2

I know there is already a thread on it here somewhere...but...

I watched this on BlueRay at the house last night. With the quickness that it moved through the theaters and came available, I should have known. I had purposefully not paid attention to the reviews just so as not to set myself up with a "pre" disposition about it.

It sucked so BAD, that I almost didn't make it through. I really wonder what was going through the directors head to remake what was such a decent movie with this trashy piece of B film? Especially when you consider all the years he has had to come up with a good plot and story for it, and this is what we got for all our anticipation?
And a Mexican sidekick with the by far cheesy-est catch phrase that has ever been tried outside of a Shwartzenegger film? Ding Dong ******? Really?

Tried way too hard to re-incorporate the same elements from the first film, rather than attempting to move on with the story line. Very weak plot, very weak characters, just poor, poor, poor.

Take it from me, if you haven't seen it yet, save your money. Imagine the greatness it SHOULD have been in your head....and fear not. It was left wide open for a triquel that hopefully will be much better. I am not going to hold my breath.

Yeah, I think he kinda let the cult following of the first one get to his head and he tried to deliver what he thought the fans wanted. Personally, I thought the Mexican sidekick was pretty funny, despite the cheese.

When I saw those heels and legs in the beginning I knew better. Good thing it was an actual women and not Smecker.

There were also a couple things that were annoying. For example, the Desert Eagles with 20 round mags.

I didn't expect much from it, thus why I haven't seen it yet. I'll probably have netflix deliver it.

I just watched both of them for the first time in the last few days. From what I'd been told, I was expecting Irish Catholic Hardboiled. I did not get that, it was very disappointing.

Sean Patrick Flannery didnt even look like himself, plastic surgery maybe. I wasnt sure it was him until 75% through the movie.

The script from BD1 was recycled, slightly re-written with some additions for the most part, why I'll never know. I love BD1, but this is just lame. Only one really funny part at the end, I wont spoil it though. The new sidekick was kind funny, but they tried to make him just like Rocco, a funny guy who constantly screws things up. Troy Duffy needs to pull his head out of his arse.

I liked it. I was lucky enough to get to see it in the theaters twice.

i liked it, but it had too many funny parts, not enough serious parts, and romeo was just like a mexican rocco...and the chick's voice was annoying.

I liked it as well..

The mexican's role was to be comic relief so him being goofy was the point.... In a movie that basically glorifies killing people it cant be all dark.
