Do you have to sign for insured USPS packages?

Insurance on a package is not the same as delivery confirmation, correct?

Just wondering because I bought something off the internet and it'll probably be delivered today unless USPS ****s the bed. However it's a beautiful day and I really don't like sitting in the house and waiting... wanna go ride my bike.

So if the package is only insured, they'll leave it, right?

I believe so. IIRC Delivery confirmation is the only one that needs your signature.

Insurance does not require a signature the only thing that does is signature confirmation, delivery confirmation is simply a number that verifies something was shipped and something was delivered.

Yeah, anything insured I've had to sign for. Delivery confirmation is just to allow tracking. At first I was thinking it was just packages from Canada but then I remembered a bought a 'Mag from a guy on here and he insured it and I definitely wound up having to pick it up at the post office because I missed the delivery.

I just looked this up a month or so ago. If the package is insured for greater that $300 then you will have to sign for it. If it is insured for less than $300 no signature is require.

It just depends on how much insurance is on it.

based on price you insured for. also if your going to insure something better have way to prove it worth that price. if want to sure something for 300$ make sure have way to prove said item worth that price. and not what you think or other half. they said to me once going stander for item. since some people will say item worth 300$ and not what going rate is.
