Well, I can tell you that insulation is at the top of the list. We've all ready started, we just have to get a hold of enough of the stuff. See, theres a guy we know very well that works for Taggart construction. He was getting all the 1" pink sheet insulation that was being thrown away to insulate his house. Well he finished his house and had a crap load left, so we offered to clean the rest up for him.

Now the toilet is a work is progress. Wile it was a toss up between the manure conveyor and a composting toilet, the composting toilet was the better of the two. We've built the toilet and so far it works, "so far".

Dont worry fella's, my family isn't totally "flat footed". I think we're going to be fine. "hopfully"

Thanks.

Ti

Lotsa sponge baths, carrying buckets of water sounds like. Though most barns have at least a cistern for water.

Oh, that's another thing I forgot to mention. We have running water, coming from a 90' well. We had to replace the pump and all that, but we're set. Everything will be set up in the milk room which is on the left as you enter the barn. (I haven't taken any pictures of that room yet do to how crapy it was)

We also hooker up the power two weeks ago. So we're set there to.

So you'll be doing grey water/composting toilet then I am assuming then, right?

Make sure there's no code police out there, even rural areas have the gestapo who just love to home in on someone that they can tack a bunch of fines to.

In a word... Envy!

I have the 50 acres, but the buildings I have are best described as "burner-downers" versus "fixer-uppers".

I wish I had a nice dairy barn to convert.

Much luck and keep the build thread going

Ty

Ah yes, we also have a "burner-downer" alittle ways into the woods. Or maybe even a "blower-uper"..............

Anyway, was at the Farm today and took some more pictures..............

This is the milk room looking MUCH better them before.

This is at the top of the stairs going up to the loft.

This is the complete tent structure with three tent middels on. I would have taken pic's of the inside but it was way to dark.

This is the toilet for now. Still working on a better "ventilation" system.

And this is Joey getting ready to drive home.

Thanks.
