It is good to be back in Alaska again after another adventure where I almost lost my right foot. I was able to cram a size 12 foot into a 4 or 5 inch area and come away relitively unscathed. The airplane I was working on had serious queertrons running around in it. A Pallet moved all by its self with no input to get power to the drive wheel and snuck up behind me and pushed the back of my boot as my toes got wedged on a lip on the floor of the plane. It bent my foot upward into a severe upside down v and squashed it into a 4 or 5 inch area. It was pretty awesome since I did not scream like a little school girl ,but some how managed to stay calm and give directions on how to move the pallet aft when the primary controls malfunctioned. I was trapped for about 15-20 seconds. The guy next to me threw up because he said he thought bones where gonna start popping through my boot. After getting my foot free I did what I always tell my judo students to do and walked it off..........Well sort of hobbled it off. They had a medic come out to the plane to look at it since I refused to go to a Kuwait hospital. I took my very swollen foot out for him to look at he he was funny as he said we have blood several times like a kid going through puberty. The blood was just from where it tore off the ends of some of my toe nails and skin from the same area. When he calmed down I had him wrap it and promised him I would stay off from the foot ;pppppp After he left I loaded the rest of the plane as it was very important to me that some of the cargo got home as soon as possible so there families did not have to wait any longer then possible for them. I went upstairs and elevated and Iced the foot all the way to Germany and the did a offload and upload there as well. We then flew into Delaware where after all the proper ceremonies where done I was finally able to go see a Doc.They where amazed to find nothing broken. I got some light pain meds, a cast and some crutches, and jumped in a taxi to Philly where I could actually spent the night. After a 4 hr rest I was back at the airport on a flight to Seattle and then home to anchorage. By time I got to anchorage there was not much more manning up left and i went to the ER where I got another X-ray and some better pain meds. Doc said still not broken but refereed me to a specialist. After a Mri was done it has been concluded that I broke pretty much shattered one of my bones ,but some how all the pieces managed to fall right back into place so no surgery! I also pretty much wasted all my tendons and ligaments etc. So now here I am stuck in a soft cast until my foot is no longer the size of my pak boots then I will be in a hard cast for 8 weeks after which I hope the rehab goes quick so I can start on my next little adventure. This one involved going to 7 different states and 3 different countries in a Little over 40 hrs. I got my last state to be be boots on the groud checked off as well when we stopped in Maine for fuel. My company co-workers now call me Hardcore Dave for some reason. Just another adventure in the life of P-3!

It still hurts a lot but pain is nothing more then Gods way of telling me I am still alive. I endure it during the day and then take the meds to sleep at night.

Nothing seems to slow you down Dave! The Discovery Channel needs to follow you around on one of your adventures....it would have better ratings than most of the stuff they currently air.
