I feel sorry for my son. . . :)

While most kid's parents struggle to put together a bicycle at Christmas, I'm trying to figure out how to put a lawnmower engine on it. . .

Behold, the latest reason why he will be punching bag of choice at the local school.

Got tired of him complaining about the bugs in it. And his mother complaining about the algae. That and having to drain it every three days because of the mosquito larva. Pump keeps the water circulating, should stop the skeeters. Filters 10 micron particulate then 5 micron carbon. Should take care of the small bugs and algae. Now a quick skimming to get the big bugs and I should have a little more of my life back. So I'll have time to dream up other ways to get him deemed a total geek once he starts school.

LOL We had a similar problem (but not as bad) last year with out small pool. We went shopping for a better filter system for it and decided that we were not going to put a $300+ filter system on a $60 pool. LOL So we just got a full sized pool this spring. But heck, if you decide to get a larger pool you should be set concerning the filtering system.

Actually got the idea while I was lamenting not having shelled out for the filtered pool. This setup is built entirely of parts left over from another project. I recently began converting waste veggie oil into diesel to run my truck. Only about $30 invested here. Cheap pump from Harbor Freight and a filter system off of Ebay- stuff I bought before I discovered that I was going to need a stronger pump and a higher volume filter system to handle the veggie oil.

Bio-diesel, baby! I'm totally sold on it and I don't even own an automobile anymore!

Free time is deadly to your son's social status. Great idea!
