All I miss is the inline 6.....but when will these be released? I am planning on buying a Jeep once I get out of high school.

The Apache, Traildozer and Mopar Accessorized Wrangler are all made of off-the-shelf components available through Mopar and/or American Expeditionary Vehicles (AEV started out as an aftermarket supplier, but they're doing more and more work with Mopar itself, the COD3 Wrangler already has AEV parts on it from the factory, and most of the new JK parts are just AEV parts with Mopar part numbers).

The Mighty FC is probably for giggles-it's almost impossible to build passenger-sized forward-control vehicles today due to safety regulations. Maybe as a super-expensive kit some day, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

The J12 isn't going to be produced, per se, rather it's a concept to gauge exactly how people want their Jeep truck to look, if they can build one. If it does come, it'll be with the 2014/2015 redesign of the Wrangler.

The Trailhawk is going to be produced, with a few changes-expect a mild factory lift and some sliders as well. No date yet, but I'd expect MY2013.

So many cool concepts. I wish they'd make a truck again.

The JK-8 truck conversion sold far better then expectations, so it does show an interesting in pickup trucks that do not look like anything else.

Do they still make cab-over vans and minivans?

I tried to find one, like the old Toyotas, but all modern vans/minivans seem to have the engine farther forward. Like you said, probobly a DOT required to make them safer in a crash?

Yeah, DOT and FMVSS restrictions make them virtually impossible today for passenger-sized vehicles. Today, you need spacing requirements, crumple zones, component clearances, ect, ect.

Plus, the big problem that the original FCs had that any modern replacement would carry forward was the nasty habit of flipping end-over-end if you stopped quickly, or went down a steep slope. Granted, the LWB FC-170s weren't so bad for this, but the FC-150s, which had the same WB as the CJs of the day, were deathtraps when the beds were empty. When they were being built, the exit of the assembly line had a 15% slope, and they had to move them out one at a time, because if you had to stop it quickly on the ramp, it'd flip.

It is technically possible to make a FC today, but the cost would be astronomical. If they did want to make an FC competitor, it would be cab-forward, but not full COE, and not FC-basically, a Jeep Unimog.

Check out the AEV JK Brute. It's just a kit, but i believe they really nailed the lines on it. I loved the TJ Brute as well, but the JK 4door brute blows it out of the water. That being said, I wouldn't want to wheel it with the extra extended wheelbase, but would make quite the daily driver.

Figured i'd get in on this, I'm a jeep enthusiast as well.

I love Brutes. The JK Brute is a little long for my tastes, but it's still fantastic. And I still fantasize about building a TJ Brute...once I finish my current TJ (Eventually), I'm going to try and pick up another one to turn into a Brute.

Diesel? Finally?

2016 Jeep Wrangler To Get Diesel Engine | Edmunds.com

Quote:
The diesel will be available in the 2016 Wrangler, which will debut in 2015.

"The engine will be introduced toward the end of the model's lifecycle to boost sales before they bring in the redesigned model," according to an industry source who asked not to be identified.

At the same time, the 2016 Wrangler will be freshened, possibly with new interior trim and exterior colors.
I'll continue to wait, but I won't hold my breath. The plants can hardly keep up with demand as it is, I don't see why they would throw a wrench into things.
