I'm still shopping around for a motorcycle but the Derbi was too good of a deal to pass up.

Maybe instead of a crossbrace...

a nano febder. Would work as added antiflex and keep the battery from dinging?
1/4 steel plate should work. Or chromoly if applicable.

Nice avvy WK2

mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

splattttttt,,,

Thank You Good Sir

Battery what battery ??? This project is "Kicker Only" and I am running a capacitor like a old Triumph

The seat is mounted to the cross brace and I will more than likely end up getting 2.5" hairpin springs for the seat to give it a little more cushion... The rear fender will be floating about 1/2" above the rear tire with a sissy bar brace with a little kickback just tall enough to hold my 3/4 open face when I take it off and need a place to set it down....

You can see the cross brace in this pic that I didn't post ( all steel added in this project is DOM tubing )

So I've got my old Honda 750 and it runs a 4 into 1 exhaust.

I'm trying to think of a way to rig the exhaust so that it's quicker to disconnect. I can only work on it on a frame lift, which means everytime I need to do something I have to take the pipes off. There's gotta be a better way.

Here are some more updates for you

Better pic of the cross brace and seat tabs with front pivot seat mount

What I have been up to the past couple of nights :

Cutting down a Harley Davidson Fender to fit the rear tire ( can I say it's now a Hardly-Davidson )

Mocking up the Sissy bar brace for the rear fender

Mocking up the 1966 Yamaha "Big Bear" Scrambler gas tank ( 4 gallons,,, oh yeah )

Once again daydreaming of ridin' down the road ( this time with a rear fender and gas tank )

more updates as time permits

Not sure I like the massive, awkward shaped gas tank, but still, I have to give you mad props for the build. Keep the pictures coming!

TippmannFireman,,,

I was sorta going for the old BSA / Norton / Triumph look with the 1966 Yahama "Big Bear" Scrambler tank ( I thought the tank was smaller from the guys sell pictures ) ... I was looking all over for a real Brit tank but everybody wanted an arm and a leg for the dang things... My theme I guess you could say is RAT Brat...

Examples :

I hope that helps

I'm all for big gas tanks. I don't get the dinky peanut tank thing, as much as I don't get the hardtail thing. I hate having to stop for gas. But then again, I don't ride to impress others or to fit a predetermined 'look' though I do appreciate a good looking bike. I prefer functional and comfortable.

Get off my damn lawn.

D4rksabre, can you retrofit a centerstand onto your CB? They're SO handy.
