I primarily use the F and the S words when trying to get it to start. The C word occasionally as well.

some bikes are just cold natured. the xr650l is a tough machine! it's hard to kill a Honda...especially an xr model! that whole xr line was some of the most reliable bikes ever made.

Most people don't know that skittish is the proper spelling for "jittery". Don't believe me... Look it up.

My XBR (the same type engine as XR) needed a lot of time to heat up and get going, itīs just the nature of the beast.

On a completely different topic, I nearly got killed today.

I was casually riding to work, 120km/h on the freeway, when I hit a dead fox/raccoon/whatever.
When I saw it I could just hang on, too late to avoid it. Made a pretty big jump and only barely kept upright. There was a lot of traffic and cars would have driven me over if I had fallen.

Gonna take the smaller roads for mornings from now on. (The freeway has no lights and itīs pretty much pitch dark in the morning.)

I'll bet you pretty much reacted like your display picture eh Badder? It seems as though it takes about 1-2 minutes to heat up and I can then take the choke off that is ofcourse if I'm not riding it. I've ridden it twice so far and so far quite enjoyable. I think I can see over all but lifted vehicles on this bike by standing on the pegs.
