I just wear a nice pair of Sperry's. Classy enough for my course, but more comfortable than golf shoes.

What ball do you hit?
Pro v1x if I'm feeling brave. Usually Nike Ones.

Do you use a glove?
I can't play without one.

I don't really golf... but I cut the pins and mow the greens.

Protip-Don't complain about aeration. The benefits outweigh the inconvenience.

I would get a hybrid roughly 19 degrees (3 iron) You can hit a ton of different shots with it and can almost putt with it. An older Taylormade, Admas or Cobra for brand. But go used. Most big golf stores have a used bin where clubs are relatively cheap.

I have putt with my 5w from the fringe before because my putter would have been snagged. My set is a little interesting in that all the irons are a few degrees stronger, but also have a 10-iron to make up for the gap from 9 to pw. Factored in there somewhere is what they labeled as a 3w/h and 5w/h. I hit my driver 240-270 on average (220 on bad ones, 300+on the great ones) and can reliably hit my 3w(hatever) 225 and the 5w(hatever) ~210. Then I have a real 3h (Alien, love it) that I hit in the 180 range and then the 5-iron that starts at ~160 off the deck.

Again, I'm not that great, but that's because I play less than I paintball (which is every 4-6 weeks) but I had an even harder time when I had 40 yard gaps in my clubs.

Bringing this thread back from the depths.

So I ended up getting the TaylorMade 1.0 irons and really like them. My game is slowly improving so this spring I am looking to get a nice driver and 3w. I think I may not get a 5w with the plans of a hybrid in the future. What drivers do people like? I hit today at Dick's the older TaylorMade driver, as well as the R11. They all felt really nice but the poor driver I have now gives no good base for comparison. There were several other models I would have liked to hit but being a lefty there are few that stores have in stock to hit in the cage.

Stick with TaylorMade. The R9 or R11 will serve you well.

I'm kinda taking up golf this year I guess.

I got my dad some Callaway Razr irons last year, he likes them and so do I on the occasion I do golf. We also got a 4 hybrid, it is super easy to play.

I might have to buy a whole set this year. Oh the horor.
