As I was looking for anything on this EXCELLENT adventure.....I ran across this

IMDb Video: Footloose: Trailer #1

And I am like..>WHAT?! that was a terrible movie the first time....and it looks like the script has not changed, just the actors......so what makes em think they can do it again?

And besides when is this generation going to do something new in the movies?

A) Every story that can be done... has been done. If you can come up with an original story that hasn't in some way shape or form been told in the last 10,000 years then Hollywood will hire you.

B) We're in a Recession. Hollywood isn't taking chances, they are going for guaranteed bank. Rock the 80's nostalgia. You get original fans who want to see an updated version, and new fans who haven't seen the original getting their own.

General theme sure....aliens invade the planet, hero saves it by blowing up aliens....sure been there, done that....but to take a script from 20-30 years ago, and re-shoot it with new actors is what I was referring too....why not go even further back and grab stuff that even us 40+ers did not get a chance to see on the screen? I mean they are even redoing Red Dawn!! Next Tom Cruise will play Tom Skerritts role in Top Gun the redo....
