What an adventure. I'm guessing these are sport pilot planes because of the two seats. I cannot imagine going over the ocean in one of these.

When you posted that the first time I went to the gyrocopter facebook instead of the GoPro facebook. duh.

That is a good pic though.

That is the style I want ( used affordable). Those start around $12G's for a single seat. I really want to build my own and buy the wing and motor.

I had a good friends dad get killed in one of those when I was in high school. She put the wreckage in the hangar and I believe to this day it is still there. I know she still lives in the house and the hangar is there. She said at the time he crashed it he had over 30 grand in it. Some two seater with a cockpit like a helicopter on it. He had a landing strip and everything at his house. He was taking off and something happened and engine stall about 800ft. She was in her plane on the runway behind him about to take off.

Yes, that is a hazzard.

Just like driving,boating even riding a bicycle.

Insurance stats say people who drive cars will have at least one near fatal accident in their driving career.

I too have lost friends. Everything from suicide to just dying in bed. I'm not sure there is ever an easy way. I guess it's just the thought of how it happens.

At least he was doing something he enjoyed .
