The CGI sucks and looks overly fake. Frankly the part from the trailer better have been early drafts of the sequence rushed through to get a trailer out.

Seriously, look at 2:00 of the trailer, and look closely at the wall. That screams flat geometry with limited 3D texturing. Would it have killed them to have an artist spend an extra few hours breaking that section up so it looked like an actual brick wall?

I'll watch the film when Peach Tree TV picks it up.

there was a time when rehashes at least wait until the original has faded from the public minds.

there was also a time when trailers weren't composed of 50% fading to black before ample time to actually see what's on the screen to get you excited.

those were the times when movies didn't suck, i suppose.

True, but if Sony doesn't make a movie then their contract will expire and the rights go back to Marvel. So Sony is obligated to milk it for all its worth, from a business standpoint.

there was a point in the 90's spiderman cartoon where he started growing 4 more arms and then eventually turn into a giant spider mutant. add that in with a focus on venom and they can probably come up with a script where they won't need tobey maguire at all, and it'll sell because it has venom.

it'd at least be better than a rehash so soon. how many people did they think avoided the 2nd hulk movie because of the first one?

chalk that one up to hollywood having no creativity i suppose.

Yes.
That is pretty much what everyone on io9.com said. I had never heard of mirrors edge.

Looks annoying as **** and is somewhat nauseating. I also don't see a point. I mean is it a parkour (whatever lame **** thats called) simulator. I mean, I didn't see a point in any of that.

as far as i can understand from the demo, you're a courier of apparently-not-so-legitimate goods who uses parkour along with basic martial arts and basic weapons to escape the enforcers of a big brother government and get your job done. i think the gameplay is inherently a failure because they're trying to turn something as free form and just plain free as parkour into a mechanic. at the end of the day you still have to push the proper button at the proper place which is totally counter the philosophy of parkour.

also the main character has exaggerated eyes more asian than any asian i've ever seen, and i've seen a lot, so that kills the realism graphics-wise...
