Open a bank account in the new country. Perform a wire transfer between your old account and new account.

I know that HSBC Bank is worldwide; you may be able to find a branch near you to make the transfer before you move.

In short: do everything online. It's less risky than carrying any kind of "expensive piece of paper" (money order, bank draft) that could get damaged, destroyed, stolen or lost.

best thing to do is start up new bank account and then have them get hold of your old bank and wire transfer. but make sure you let your old band what up too.

Start emailing random people in the country you're moving to, telling them that you need to move a large sum of money out of this one, to theirs?
