i was playing my first game with my E2'd superstock, and some kid bumped into me on the field before the game, the gun went off, and sent a ball right to my big toe.

I made the mistake 20 years ago when I was a kid with my first gun and shot my dad. No words were exchanged as we both understood that I would never let it happen again.

Ive seen too many guns come in for repair with a ball or two halfway down the barrel so checking that first is always needed before the air goes on or even touching the trigger. Even a gun without an air tank on it can be a threat as many HPRs hold that last couple of shots in the reg.
I can say I've never shot myself (with a real gun or a paintball gun) but when I received my Hurc, there was a paintball alread loaded. Since it's fixed barrel gun, I didn't exactly check it before I aired it up. I test fired it right into my wall. Thankfully no one was in the way and no one got hurt. When i went to ship it, I pulled the bolt to make sure I didn't leave a paintball in there as well. Sure enough, there was a ball still sitting in there. I used a barrel swab to push it free.

Looks like we all need to go back to safety class xD

I was cleaning out a barrel break by dry firing a friend's Spyder TL upside down and sticking my hand over the barrel to make sure that there wasn't any paint or shells coming out. After a couple of shots, I turned the marker around, stuck my hand over the barrel, and pulled the trigger... It hurt like hell! That's what I get for wanting to feel the coldness of C02.

I take a lot of precautions when I work on any markers now especially with my Autocockers since they can still hold enough air inside the marker after you remove your tank.
