The DoT doesn't control imports.

Now, the DoT isn't going to let you drive that on the road (legally) but there's nothing illegal to own about it.

Of course, the FAA might have something to say. Now that I look at the website it says 10k feet. Geeze.

Missing the point? Not at all. My point was exactly that: the DoT has no authority over imports, or even over this vehicle at all, since it's an aircraft. It's the FAA that has jurisdiction here.
