Go spend a month in Europe. Its cheaper then you think. I used to spend 3-4 weeks a year backpacking around europe solo. I would budget about $20 a day to cover food, bed, sites, and travel. $600 is a very reasonable budget for a month in Europe. Even less if you work on the side (easy to find work at hotels, and restaurants doing "unpleasant" jobs). Rural hostels are typically $10, most rural sites are free, buy food at grocery stores (ie PBJ, ramen, etc), and the busfare to the next town is usually $5 or less. Once you get into the cities (ie London, Paris, Dublin) hostels run up to $20, and most things are not free, but as long as you do not spend every night in the cities, you can offset your daily budget. The only negative is the summer is the worst time to travel to europe. Its the "tourist" season, and there are fat americans everywhere. Its also hard to get a cheap flight.
