I have an old manual drill, I just prefer the fancy electric one. Holes are one thing I don't mind doing fast.

Diddley-bows are much simpler. Here is a video of Jack White making one from an old plank, a coke bottle and a few nails.

I'm currently making one to sell on here. I've uploaded pictures of the build so far to my Photobucket. Follow along if you'd like. I'm using Cocobolo for the Nut and Bridge.

This is impressive, but i have to say i can't imagine the acoustic capabilities of the guitars are all that great, or am i mistaken?

Bravo, that is actually very impressive, i expected it to sound like a shamisen quite honestly. My friend and i were talking about how it didn't seem like they could have good tone, but i'm happy to be proven wrong.

Also so you know, the basis for my claim was that the acoustic diddly bows i've heard have never sounded as electric ones, and usually sounded similar to shamisens.
