I make guitars. 56k not friendly.

I make Cigar box Guitars for fun. I'll get bored and have the itch and decide to make one. I usually end up selling them as I can't play, I just like making them. I have all the parts for one that I'm going to keep if I ever decide to make it. Most of the time I make them the traditional way, without power tools besides a drill. Most of them are electric as well. I was wondering if anyone on McB made instruments of any kind.

Here are a few pictures of my Guitars.

My first guitar.

One I made for the local shop where I get my boxes.

A few more I've made.

Cookie tin banjo, in progress Ukulele, and store bought Suprano Ukulele for size reference.

And a ukulele I made for a friend.

Reminds me of seasick Steve on Top Gear making a banjo out of Morris Morina hub caps. I, too, am curious how they sound.

This is a friend of mine, Neanderpaul. I also made this guitar for him. The guitar sounds a little twangy because of his set up. It's also his first time playing it.

I like the way they sound, but I can walk to the Delta.

DUDE! I am impressed! and I collect funky oddball guitars for a hobby myself and those are mighty fine, I love the idea for the bridge, that old metal loop. my favorite one is that brown robusto extra one near the bottom

just curious, you sell these as well? whats an average price for one?

That metal loop is a Eye bolt. Usually I don't sell them for much, but there are guys out there that have jigs made and can turn out more than I could think of. I take my time and make each one by hand. I try not to make the same one twice.

That is awesome. I just saw some guy who made a bass out of a card board box. It was on a show on History channel last night.

Keep up the good work they look great!

those sound pretty cool....... and fun for goofing off with
It is neat that they are tuned in a open tuning, sorta like when I have my guitar tuned in drop-D and only using the bottom 3 strings
I used to play a fret-less bass for a long time...... what strings to you use on it?
Round wound? Flat wound? Ground wound?

I could see that thing sounding amazing through my Vox AC30....
