well i thought about it now, and you know what? i think i might do the same thing if i was in his shoes. isn't 77 years of being a fool long enough? why would you do it for a single day more if you could help it, right? epsecially if you were oblivious all this time, and can't even be certain now that any 1 of your 5 children are yours and it's too late to start over. for all you know she just ruined his chances of passing down his genes. forever. that's a pretty big deal.

I can understand his point. If she kept the letters all these years then they must mean something to her, he has been supporting her all these years and she still has feelings for this person. So tossing her to the curb isn't unreasonable. Plus if she was cheating then she might be cheating now. Maybe with that young 82 year old guy at the nursing home.
