I think it's genius and will gladly pay my taxpayers portion of the $800 to replace the decals.

What does erk me is that now I have to help pay for the man hours and associated fees that they are going to put into trying to find out who did it and prosecute.

The only up side to that is that they are likely stupid enough to let the person that did it work in the print shop again.

Pretty neat. Sometimes things like that are worth keeping around.

We have a cool stone wall down the street as the entrance for a fancy neighborhood. I guess the story is, the guy that developed it was a jerk. The stone mason, being upset more than once from this guy because he wasn't paid on time, put in a "middle finger" in the wall.

You don't notice it until it's pointed out to you... and then... you wonder how no one has noticed it.

It's been there for 20 years now. Either people know and they don't care, or I'm one of the last few that remember it being put there.

I'll have to snap a photo of it.

That's clever but honestly they're going to remove it with tax payer money? There really isn't anything wrong with it to warrant X amount of dollars paid to remove it. I say leave it alone.

I think it has to do with their regulations requiring that the "official seal" be used.

I say auction or raffle off the decals to pay for the proper ones to be put on. I think I have been odds of winning the lottery without buying a ticket than that happening though.

If I were a cop with that on my car, I'd wear it as a badge of pride.

One of my former (now retired) supervisors...who also used the above acronym...used to have little pink pig stickers stuck on the bottom plate of all his magazines...including the one in the mag well of his holstered weapon, visible to all. Definitely drew some curious stares and questions over the years.

Saw that on the news this morning, and had a good laugh. It struck me as just a bit of Loki-esque mischief, rather than a malicious act. I'd probably still use the logo. Had it stayed a local inside joke, it could have persisted for years. Once it goes public and wide-spread though, it's only right to make the appropriate changes.

1. This is hilarious, hats off to the inmate that thought that up. It is subtle and clever.

2. Don't do a big investigation to find the inmate who did this. Fire the desk sitter who though that using prison labour to do this was a good idea. You would have to be a moron to think a prisoner, who is dispositioned to hate the police wouldn't try something like this.
