transcoding between codecs is a fun time
some flips take a minute for every minute

i would find editing software that works with the camera's format

did anything come with it?

I recommend the Pazera Free MOV to AVI converter. It's slow, but does a very good job.

You can also change the size and frame rate of the video, and it's a stand alone program.

Or...

You can do what I did... I ended up just giving up and getting a Mac and now I use imovie.

This is the best advice in here.

Always find editing software that will natively work with your source files.

I use sony cameras and adobe edits mpegs like a champ.

Well, yes I got the program to run now. But frig, now I can't find which "source" the videos are under. This really isn't as point and click as the internet says it is.

And I'd like to try one thing at a time first, I'm very confused as is.

Thanks.

The "source directory" at the top left corner is where you find the files you want to convert, yes?

Right, but my problem is which folder? All I know is the videos are in the "pictures" section where all my pictures and videos load into when I take them off the camera. I cannot find anything that matchest up after checking the properties of the videos.

okokok, it's working! Your getting me along here, good stuff.

So, videos converted and loaded onto Movie Maker. BUT when playing the videos on Movie Marker, I only get audio, no video. Checking the properties, the file type is indeed audio........
