Tattooed People: Does your ink ever raise?

It's happening to my back piece right now. It's been about a year to the day since I got it, it stings a little when I scratch it or if I have a hot shower. This is all pretty recent. Anyone have any thoughts or similar things happening? I hear a change in season will do it, but I didn't notice it in the winter.

Does the tattoo have three numbers of six, six, and six?

Arranged in a circle?!?!?! IT DOES! IT DOES!

(No, but it's really big and only the portion directly on or near my spine is getting really "raised". The part on my shoulder blades isn't bad at all.

For awhile one of mine did almost like hives. Not the whole thing but a bit.

I've got tattoos on pretty much every part of my body, never had that. My sister did, though. It was just a rash IIRC, but the ink makes it stand out more.

I have multiple colors in my sleeves, and I notice that sometimes only a certain color will have allergic, rash like symptoms at times. I once tried Aveeno anti itch lotion with menthol, and only the yellow and orange pigments in my tattoo developed an allergic response, causing itching with elevated skin.

I changed out lotions and the problem stopped. I most frequently get color reactions when I'm exposed to direct sunlight for too long, or also during a change in season. It's always only certain colors, not all at once.

Yup, mine does it randomly. Speaking of which, I need to get my retouched. The first guy did a good job, but a few places are lacking.

I remember reading an article years ago that said yellow inks in tattoos can break down in sun, and work they're way into your blood, can't recall what if any side effects it had.

It gets almost no sun. I work indoors, and I didn't take my shirt off at all last summer cause it was still new.
