Sling shots

I'm just looking for something that can hit around 250 fps while being a good price.

I know nothing about sling shots so I figured I'd ask you guys :P

something like this is less cool, but probably more what you're looking for.

Pretty sure velocity depends on the band.

I bought a cheap sling shot with an arm brace from wal mart, and I can tell you that I have never seen a paintball fly flatter or further in my whole life. I even used it in a game and kinda got one elimination (one on one, kept going till I shot him, and got hit about 12 times) it had a blue band, and black handle/armband.
Buy one and try it, its a helluva lot of fun!
Pat.

Tell me why I had to be a powerslave.
I don't wanna die, I'm a god, why can't I live on?
When the Life Giver dies, all around is laid waste.
And in my last hour,
I'm a slave to the power of death.

This. I bought a simple Wal-Mart one years ago and it was so accurate I could hit the handle on the shed a good 35-40 yards away. It wasn't even the one with the arm brace. Might be something to look into before spending loads of money on some fancy one that does the same thing as a cheap one.

I've tried it, I just see the problem with my friends sling shots is that the bands only push out like 130fps.

Your problem is the other direction. I've seen slingshots easily push 350-400. The field I used to ref at wouldn't allow them for just that reason.

Even the cheap Wal-mart slingshots can shoot WAY over a safe paintball FPS, and since there's no way to "lock" the velocity beyond "I promise not to pull the band back all the way." you're setting up a potentially dangerous situation.

There's a reason the poster above talked about flat and straight -he was probably shooting the paintball at 350-400fps.

Have you actually seen them push those speeds? I would have thought that the bands wouldn't get things moving that fast.

[edit]

conviently, Jorg the Slingshot guy published this video last week!

Thats why I want a slingshot...

Not to shoot over the limit, just to have and play around with.
