I'm going to be "that guy" and go ahead and suggest that you take a look at your local rescue services/humane societies before you look to a breeder.

Call around to the rescues first, but avoid the puppy mill places. Our first puggle was from a breeder, our second was free from CL because the owner was going from a house to an appt. They are the best of friends.

Don't give in! Wait it out until they become obsessed with something else. They are women after all.

WHY!!!??!?!?!!

My aunt has had them for years and I have never understood the appeal, one of them was the most defiant little dog I have come across but she was "cute" so it was fine. I think shes on her fifth one.....

A better question is, do you the damn thing? If not then if you give in you had bargain for something really good because when it craps on your lawn then suddenly its your dog and your problem. You had better make sure that they understand that they clean up after it or else....

I love my Yorkie!

Say hello to Buddy!

Bought him as a puppy from a breeder last year and he is just about to turn 1!

Just a heads up , he is the most defiant dog I have ever dealt with... it is just their personality type.
What makes this worse is that he is also very smart so he knows exactly what he is doing....

Also they are very high energy dogs and demand a lot of play time/ exercise.... just a fair warning

In the end they are a bundle of joy and there is not a day that goes by that I regret owning a Yorkie!

I would highly recommend one if you have patience and lots of energy for them.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask here or pm me!

it's time to put your wife and kids up for adoption.

i'd rather wait than to go to breeders. if the obsession turns out to be just a phase and you got a dog from a breeder right now, you'll be stuck with a sad neglected puppy in the future. if you wait for a rescue maybe you'll find out it's just a phase in the mean time, and nothing bad happens.
