w00t! I just got back from Ottawa, Canada where I had probably my single most fun day of paintball yet. A bunch of the folks from MCB were playing and since I was heading to town, one of them invited me out to a relaxed little day of play in the west side of the city. There were probably 15-25 of us in total and we mixed it up on three of the field's newly constructed (and by that I mean "laboriously built over a period of 10 months") woodsball fields. Fantastic sportsmanship all around, complete respect for safety and fairness. My teenage nephew was with me, had a great time and would gladly come back, as would I. I saw more Palmer Pursuit Shop, pumps and AGD markers in one place than I've EVER seen with a PGP2k and a CCM Series-6 thrown in for good measure. I had a chance to put my Classic 'mag with PPS barrel through the wringer and it held it's own. I passed it to the lad shooting the Chipley S6 and he put half a dozen balls into a grapefruit-sized circle at over 100-feet. I'm satisfied the 'mag is tuned and tweaked to exactly where it needs to be... that's the kind of grouping I used to see with the Blazer. You can't expect more from a round, gelatin ball. As anyone who was there today will already know what I'm talking about, I'm going to refrain from mentioning the field or players unless one of them doesn't mind being non-anonymous. Fantastic day guys! I'm back in Montreal and miss Ottawa already now.

Yes. I had a great day! It was nice to meet another MCB'er face to face, and of course to get in some games. The tide turned slightly I am afraid after you left, we took our lumps the next game in a lop-sided victory, but got it back together. We finished the day with the two refs hopping in (with tac8s) with the pumpers against the rest... we put the screws to them! We try and maintain a fun, safe field, and always appreciate having safety-conscious players amongst the groups to help ensure a fun safe day. I am also glad you enjoyed the fields, they were insanely labour intensive. We have had no easy task, and the village field we are working on will be the same as well. Can't wait to get you down here for another game. It was nice to meet both of you. |
