is this what they call a jersey thing?

  1. some kid thought it would be safe to dig a tunnel 3 feet under the beach, it collapsed
  2. the responding fire truck hit a dad and his 4 year old daughter
  3. the boy died anyway
  4. apparently it's already the 5th beach death since memorial day at that county

i have not seen a higher concentration of fail in a single incident for quite a while now... http://www.app.com/article/20120718/NJNEWS/307180091

No Heinous, it is what they call a tragedy.

a 12 year old and sadly his parents weren't aware of engineering principals, and sadly the child died from it.

Drownings happen often off of all coastlines where swimmers enter the water. Often because of their unfamiliarity of currents and conditions, or the safe way to navigate and extricate oneself from their grip.

While I often find your mockery enjoyable, sometimes your callousness in the face of tragedy is a bit less palatable. Especially where the young are concerned, being a parent and all.

Yes... This is truly a horrific tragedy.
The beach I take my two boys to is almost in sight of where this child lost his life.
If this was one of my boys, I would never recover.

and just before the recent spate of drownings I pulled a guy out of a riptide (early June),
he had no clue about what danger he was in and I almost anticipated it.
I'm just glad the lifeguard got to us quickly. I was already tiring from holding him up and trying to get us out of the rip current.

Almost always, the drownings are from people who don't frequent the beach and don't respect the water...

it won't be easy, as i'm familiar with the powers of a rip current, as well as the structural strength of sand.

I don't even have words to describe this stupidity. When somebody does things that are REALLY obviously stupid, everyone says " well at least they deserved it" How is swimming included in that group of things? Millions of people swim every day with 0 problems.

and a CHILD was digging a tunnel. children don't know these things, they just do what seems fun.

Go jump in a fire or something. maybe it'll be useful.
