wow that is an awesome video... haha ya i was the kid that shot back and forth across the shallow water, doing spins and stuff lol it was fun though, but need to try getting out into the water, I need a better skim board

I grew up skimboarding with my friends at Corona Del Mar in S.Cal, but I never got really good at it. I was kinda like the 'This was skimboarding' guy. The Sac State students do it on the river here.

They make a damn fine board. Next time I'm in their factory I'll snap a few pics and maybe make a thread about it. Really interesting stuff goes on there

Used to skim all the time growing up in Florida. Even skimmed in the streets when they flooded... After countless days of flawless performance, there we were. Me and three 14yr old buddies skimming at Daytona Beach around spring break. Lo and behold, two college gals came sauntering past us so I took off at a dead sprint with my board eager to impress with my skills. I landed too far forward on the board and nosed it into the sand causing an epic wipeout of sand, water, blood, and I'm pretty sure some pee. My buddies were dying from laughter and the chicks laughed too. I got some nasty scrapes from the sand on my chest, chin, and knees. That's what you get for showing off...

That's really big here in Newport Beach at the Wedge. Huge shorebreak where they ride the skimboard out onto an incoming wave and surf it back in.
