Awesome video man! Guys have really gone a long ways with tricks. Never thought a kick flip would be possible off water.

I grew up skimboarding with my friends at Corona Del Mar in S.Cal, but I never got really good at it. I was kinda like the 'This was skimboarding' guy.

The Sac State students do it on the river here.

You're into skim? I was sponsored by Victoria, and a bunch of my best friends currently are . They're based in my hometown.

Here's a video of my buddy trevor, he just went to two different tournaments in Cabo and Delaware:

The Search Begins - YouTube

It's a long video (8:30) with some stupid bits and bobs, but that's what you get when you have four 20-27 year old kids on a road trip. I'll try to find some videos of myself.

Carter if you ever need a new board, let me know.

Also this is my buddy Tyler (Trevor's brother) skurfing. He's sponsored by god knows how many companies for skim/surf.

Some big ones at wedge in newport beach there.

They make a damn fine board. Next time I'm in their factory I'll snap a few pics and maybe make a thread about it. Really interesting stuff goes on there

And that's why you use a long board.

Carter.. I guess I would need to see more than split second clips of guys in waves... like how the hell you get from standing on dry sand.. through the water's edge and in to waves... at speed without taking a header the first bump you hit.

E

EDIT: Should have watched CHEERs! vids before saying my last... still need to ponder this.

Used to skim all the time growing up in Florida. Even skimmed in the streets when they flooded...

After countless days of flawless performance, there we were. Me and three 14yr old buddies skimming at Daytona Beach around spring break. Lo and behold, two college gals came sauntering past us so I took off at a dead sprint with my board eager to impress with my skills. I landed too far forward on the board and nosed it into the sand causing an epic wipeout of sand, water, blood, and I'm pretty sure some pee. My buddies were dying from laughter and the chicks laughed too. I got some nasty scrapes from the sand on my chest, chin, and knees. That's what you get for showing off...

That's really big here in Newport Beach at the Wedge. Huge shorebreak where they ride the skimboard out onto an incoming wave and surf it back in.

at 120 sec into the video, your buddy starts off the sand to catch a rip. Very cool.
Carter, we're at the Cape 2nd week in Aug.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...
tlane77 He's got a woody for your woods.
