My wife likes to play a game called "Quick, what color is this!?"

My kids know that game well. My wife grew tired of it though.

During WWII thats actually why my grandfather was made a scout for convoys. He would ride a motorcycle out ahead of the convoy scouting for german positions, and apparently had an easier time spotting them due to his colourblindness.

I personally find it fairly easy to see camouflaged players on the paintball field. I am colourblind, but never being not colourblind I can't say if this plays a role or not.

The thing I find myself doing sometimes is using context to tell the colour. Its much more common to see a blue boat than a purple boat for instance so sometimes I have to make an educated guess

They make you take an eye test at MEPS that includes a color blindness test for the Air Force.

I am red green colour blind. Found out when I was four and painting a sky purple.

It's not stopped me doing anything colour related, but has been an issue when I was in the Navy Reserves looking at coloured lights for navigation...

I think this video best describes the situation when you try to explain it to people.

In the Navy, colorblindness disqualifies you for certain job fields. Gunner's Mates was one, as all the wiring in a gun or missile mount is color coded.

For me, it is the old version of the card game Phase-10. Had 4 colors ... two of which, yellow & orange are always a toss up to me unless they are close together.

Other annoyances ... Flashing, single light, traffic lights in a place I've not driven before ... "is it a red light, do I stop? is it yellow? do other cars drive right through it? ... is there a cop around?"
