What I find surprising in this conversation that there are still Americans just finding out as adults that they are color blind. I was tested several times in my elementary school and possibly as I moved to Jr high and later high school, and of course again, when I enlisted in the Navy.

I trained a guy at the pulp mill years ago, that was color blind, of course he didn't tell me he was color blind until after he kept messing up after two like two days.
I was teaching him to Scale the pulp trucks coming in, the form you recorded the cords of wood on was 4 parts colors, White, Green, Yellow, & Pink. White and Green went to woodlands division so the Loggers got paid, Yellow was our record copy and Pink was the truck drivers copy.
Every night he was all over the place with the colors! finally I was like OK Ronnie WTF!
That's when he told all of us he was color blind! We just about died laughing.
This Dude was all of 5' 5" served a couple tours in Nam as a Marine got out for a little bit and went back in the Army just so he could go back, He was a Nut, Great Guy..but freaking color blind!
