Stay tuned.. despite a really busy schedule working on two houses, I was able to get some time in at the work bench last knife. Very "simple" full tang (D2 steel, Made in USA) blade with olive drab canvas micarta handles and 3/16" nickle silver pins. No colored spacers... I was ripping along and had it all glued up and realized I'd forgotten to do them. They'll go on the next one. Handles are on and rough shaped, so tonight if I have time I will finish shape/contour them and start cleaning it up. I'll post pics later.

hey Schmiti did you ever look into how difficult it might be shipping a custom made knife to Canada? I'd absolutely love something with wood and brass or something made of horn but I don't know if we'd get any issues with customs

I haven't looked. I can ask at the post office if someone buys this.

And this may be the last time I work with Micarta for a loooong while. It makes one hell of a mess compared to wood. My saws don't like it and it just takes a while to work and finish. I also think I get much better results from wood. That being said.. even if a Micarta handle looks like a dog turd, it will still look like the same dog turd 100+ years from now with no special care... wood needs some care and up keep over time.

Just seen this thread for the first time. I was checking out the pic in the first post. Are these flat ground blades? If so, cudos to you.

That scandinavian grind is a flat grind. The one that I just put together is a hollow grind but probably done on a large wheel as it is hard to see the radius unless you really look. I didn't make either of the blades themselves.. they are pre-made from respected blade companies.

Thanks Ty... it had a funky edge on it from the "factory" but I got it started in the right direction.. and it is damn sharp!
