Project Time So let's start the story here. all of my friends are rebuilding or putting money into their cars. One friend is currently doing 3 BMWs anywhere between 1980-1994. Other friend is doing his MX-6 up. Not like the ricers who stick a Canadian exhaust on it with a cold air intake and think it's awesome. We are talking love of the car. So I always wanted a Motorcycle, not a real fan of cars beside Stingrays and old classics. So I decided on getting a bike and I did, now with this comes with project. I put over 5km on my bike in the summer, and if you know Canada that's a fair amount. and I love biking and decided to go a head and do a project bike before I get a new bike. Sadly, I have to start rebuilding soon due to... So this is my bike. 98 ZX-6R Guess what, 102XXX. And she runs so damn amazing. No clutch issues, nothing at all. She runs like she has 30KM on her. Now with that being said, also never seen rain unless gets caught in it :[. which she did in these pictures. Kinda dirty from the pickup from rain but enjoy. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...dy117/Use1.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...dy117/Use3.jpg So it's getting colder up here in Nova Scotia. And it sucks to ride in. But unluckily this happened. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ingsoffpt4.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ingsoffpt5.jpg she broke right off. Good bye break http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ingsoffpt2.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ingsoffpt6.jpg Yeah I lowsided, bummer it happened! But these gives me a excuse to get her ready for the project. Throwing these fairings in the garbage as soon as they are off, and can't for that. current progress. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ingsoffpt3.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ingsoffpt1.jpg I`ll keep updating as she gets build and everything starts getting rebuilt/polished and if I get new parts! I'll make a actually post later and keep you guys with updates. Wait till you guys see the paint and design! (also, any haters say I shouldn't do this to an old bike or blah blah blah, please ignore my post, thank you) Enjoy :] *edit* Engine rebuild kit Clutch rebuild kit Damper Window screen Few other goodies are at the boarder now... taking forever to get here. |
****ty deal that you laid it down, but good on ya for taking the time to fix it all up. Should be a fun a project for ya over the winter. I never have any time to do stuff like that in the winter... and in the summer... well I'm too busy with other stuff :gunsfiring: to take on a project like that. Worst part is, friend ordered me 1200$ parts and only telling me about 500$ what has been ordered. Unfair! *EDIT* Does anyone know where I can get custom fairings made? Not paint wise or look wise, but completely different molding to match fit other parts of fairings? |
Well Don't know who is interested. But did some more work today with a friend. Stupid dear whistle ... Took forever to take off. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...earwhsitle.jpg What the Garage is looking like ! http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...airingkits.jpg New fan will coming in, and just like this one, will be powder coated to match the bike. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...edy117/Fan.jpg Things you find out about other owners. Never trust em. the damage I've been finding on the fairings... I don't wanna see what else I have to look forward too. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...orepatches.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...eatfairing.jpg Gotta get a new one... Don't wanna spend time cleaning everything out of it. And painting to match as well lol. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...eedanewone.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g.../Resonator.jpg What she looks like now haha http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...tlookslike.jpg |

Good luck with the project. What kind of work are you looking for on the custom parts? Have you considered putting the time into research and fabricating them yourself? |

Well you live in PEI. The runs I could do would be amazing out there! Well I wouldn't do it myself, I'd mess up some wheres along the line or I wouldn't be able to make it look right on my bike. Also with the idea I have I wouldn't even know where to start. |
Fair warning should you visit PEI on your bike: Pot holes, idiot drivers. (Like pulling U turns in traffic on a bypass or the main drag in the city, during rush hour, kind of idiot.) |
