What is your favorite 'Zombie / Monster Appocalypse' book?

I finished, recently, quite a few books that are apocalypse or post apocalypse.

I have liked

"The Road" - that book is Amazing.
"I am Legend" - very good.

and others.

What are some of your favorites and why?

World War Z by Max Brooks. He's the guy that wrote the Zombie Survival Guide. Very well researched/written. I read a lot and pretty much 99% non-fiction, but this one's worth a read. It's pretty epic.

I actually gave away world war Z 100 pages into it.... It was f@@@ing terrible.every character was the same and reeked of the author....

I would like to read the Road though! NEXT!

I liked both of those.

I Am Legend is one of my all time favorites! Can reread that any time!

I'll second Metro 2033, it's a good read. Still waiting for the translation of it's sequel.

'Roadside Picnic' by the Strugatsky Brothers

the moulages in it are interesting variations of zombies, and some of the 'beasties' in it are flipping brutal. Watch out for Dick the Tramp!

Is that the same roadside picnic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is based off? Might have to look into that as well.

WWZ is amazing, one of my favorite books. But, yeah, the lack of character differentiation can wear you down.

I almost did the same. I just couldn't get into it. I did finish it though, but wouldn't recommend it very highly.
