None for me. I'm not an infant or an elderly person.

All of you guys who are afraid of shots and needles should be very thankful you don't require IVs on a regular basis.

Give blood every 6 weeks (o-negative). Needles aren't the problem. It's putting something in me that is designed to make me sorta-sick so I won't get hella-sick on something that I never get unless I take the shot.

I'll start getting flu shots when it has a good likelyhood of killing me. Until then, why bother?

I rarely get the flu.

I never get things inserted into my body unless I at least get a nice dinner first.

I'm kind of the same.
1) a small risk of getting nasty sick, or a guarantee of getting the crud?
2) I used to be deathly afraid of needles. Especially after terrible nurses and the junior-high allergy test that didn't show any allergies but caused these horribly sore bumps from the way they administered it.

It took me two ear piercings as a personal challenge to get me to a point where I don't kick and scream, and merely bite my hand and stomp on the chair.

As of yesterday I can now lift my left arm above my shoulder without pain. I didn't contract the flu but the symptoms of getting something foreign in my body were stupid.
  • nausea
  • dizziness
  • dry heaves (in the morning anyway)
  • weakness

I was talking with a co-worker and we started joking about the shots. The most prevalent thing said was:

"How come they can't just inject you with a weakened HIV or cancer shot so that later on you don't die of that?"

My reply:

"No dude. You can't inject someone with something that's terminally permanent in the hopes they wont get it again. Because once they die of it, they'll never get it again anyway"

Does catching the flu count as getting a flu shot?

Surprisingly I didn't have any adverse crap from mine this year. Usually I feel miserable. I even got mine a few days before leaving for vacation and if anything have been only a little stuffy (that could be the change in altitude, and temperature though.)
