I thought I was better than this...

I just cut my thumb making dinner. Was given a new set of cutco knives, they are no joke. That is all.

cutco rocks. Will destroy you though... they cut anything.
Someone must love you because they are expensive too!

My parents got a set of cutco knives when they got married, and they've been using them exclusively ever since. Their knives are superb!

I thought the same thing when I almost cut my thumb off with my pocket knife a a month or two ago. A late night trip to the ER for a couple stitches was not a pleasurable experience. Although, the pain killers did send me into one of the best sleeping spells I've ever had....

I mean, I don't think I'll have to. But if I'm hungry enough to cut up my bates into stew, I suppose the knives are doing a good job.

Oh and fireman, it's was a small superficial cut.....that wouldn't stop bleeding. I haven't had anything as extreme as yours happen yet.

EDIT:

quick thinking and some nearby stuff....I made my band-aid from papertowel and some medical tape that happened to be in a nearby cupboard. The actual cut is on the other side of the thumb.

I invested in some stainless steel maille gloves like we had at Wendy's when I worked there. All my knives are (and I feel they're actually sharper than) razor edged.

I used my mini-butcher's knife to get all the way through a beefy pork tenderloin without sawing or applying all that much force.
