skyfall nobody's seen it yet??? it's a fun movie. a little humor, a little action, a little suspense, a little grit, and a little homage. poetic editing and themes too. watched it in imax. was worth it. but i had a tough time controlling my giggling every time bardem smiled... his hair is just as bad as in no country for old men... http://i.imgur.com/dfyhN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dx1Zn.jpg |
Really enjoyed it. Can we talk spoilers? Im about to. Dont read the rest if you dont want to hear any. Cause I totally will. I had totally forgot that classic bond's "M" was a man. I think I replaced all of my M memories with judy dench. It was clear at the end what the movie was intended to be, as far as the bond timeline goes, but during the film I was so confused. Was this the third of the prequels(early bond career)? Following right after quantum? Or was this a sequel to all the other bond films. I kept telling myself it was still a "young" bond, but all the talk of getting old kept nagging at me. Like he was near retirement. And then when the classic car dies a horrible death I was sure this movie took place after all the classic bond films, and the pierce brosnin ones. Otherwise why would it be in storage? Sure he could be a collector before he gets one for work, but all the ejector seats and guns? Doesn't seem very bond-esque to ruin a classic. That's something Q would do for a mission. Not on your personal classic you keep in storage. Then the end reaffirmed where this sits in the chronology. But I was so confused during the movie. Also, who is the caretaker again? I feel like I should have recognized that actor... |
Bah! Doesn't come out here for another week. |
I love it. Best bond bad-guy EVER! |

I thought it was the best one since the Connery days. It was by FAR the best of Craig's. Casino Royale was good, but it had a lot of slow, boring parts; you just can't make watching other people play poker exciting. And Quantum of Solace bugged me for two reasons: 1) it tried to be a sequel to CR...and Bond movies have historically all been stand-alone and 2) when it got to the big reveal of the evil scheme I couldn't help but say "Really? That's it? THAT'S their big plan?" Skyfall was awesome start to finish...and Bardem was an awesome villain. |
I thought it was OK, didn't find Bardem all the great. It needed more Bond girls and was a bit slow in parts. Not the best, but not the worst. |
I will say, though, that it felt very Live Free or Die Hard-ish at times. "ZOMG! HAXZORZ!" |

Speaking of the new "M"...remember in Casion Royal when Bond says "I always thought M was a randomly assigned letter. I had no idea it stood for..." Well, we never found out what it meant for Judi Dench's character, but seeing as the new guy's name is Gareth Mallory... |
I loved it, I enjoyed the fact that they threw in different bits from the olden days. |
