The gadgets are what date bond movies and make them less watchable in 5-10 years.

Not for me, it kept me wondering ....can they not come up with a gadget better than an iPhone. I will admit the film was very beautiful but I guess I wanted more corniness, its an Ian Fleming staple.

It was a good movie but it just didnt live up to the two previous movies and I didnt like the villain, too wimpy for me.

Well said!

I loved this new bond movie, despite the lack of gadgets, i think it made it more enjoyable in a way and reliving some old gadgets and reminiscing of old ones in the dialogue.

Hated the ending, but otherwise liked the movie.

Watched it last night. It was not the classic Bond film but if they were making the films like they did 50 years ago nobody would be going to see them. I enjoyed it and think it is a good direction for the franchise to go. I am looking forward to the next one.

I saw it and enjoyed it more than the previous two. Craig isn't bad as bond, i just don't find him "suave" enough. Theres a big difference between him and some other Bonds, but I can't quite place it. But he does a good job, and this movie was certainly a good movie. The cinematography was really nice, the opening was one of the best I have seen (I like Casino Royal better due to the graphical approach).

I like how it is a very round about reboot. I do miss the gadgets and stuff from the old Bonds, cause yes that makes it James Bond for me. That said, I don't mind the new directions things have gone. If they keep this up for a couple of more movies I won't complain.

I think what they need next (aside from a few gadgets) is one over arching villain that isn't dealt with in a short 2hrs. Think Blofeld, but not that "Blofeld", someone that is a match for James. This current villain came pretty close, and I liked him.

Holy crap I meant to post this like 2hrs ago.

I enjoyed the hell out of Skyfall.
Need a S.P.E.C.T.R.E. organization but incredibly well made movie. I thought Javier brought just the right element of campiness to a well made villain, the romantic aspect is what I think is missing, as Bonds attention usually is held throughout the movie by the hotness he beds, and killing her off so early is not typical of a Bond film.

i agree about the song. it was actually decent until she just repeated skyfall like she was actually singing about the movie. the graphic visuals during the song were awesome though. there will probably never be as good an intro as quantum of solace.

the locations were great until the end. nothing like an international espionage movie ending in a shootout in a field in the middle of nowhere. fun, but anticlimax.
