Cool video, but that armor is not going to stop a damn thing. They should make it fully remote controlled.

Just don't lose the coin toss to go up and reload.

I'd rather be on top of that thing reloading than stuck inside of it with bullets coming right through.
They say it's good up to 23 mm cannon, I don't believe it for a second.

A different article said that the plating is 1". I have no idea what that will stop, but it's thicker than what I normally see getting shot at in the tests for various weapons.

Lots of elements for physics and engineering go into plate armour. You can have armour that easily stops a range of high calibre rounds, but the people inside will still be dead due to high velocity spalling from the back side of the armour.

If they are going for a remote view system like that then I would have preferred to see a lower profile car with at least dual layer armour with a stand off, where the driver and gunner get their own armoured barrel to sit in. It will surely boost morale on the field for a time, and that can be a valuable thing. In the end I expect it to wind up being a semi-hard cover for a few infantry in the middle of some road, and not a 'tank'.

Nothing is dynamite "proof", just like nothing is bullet "proof"...there are just different levels of resistance. If you shoot something, even a planet, with a .22LR enough times over a long enough period eventually you'll get penetration (giggity).

Interesting concept but they could have just made a "technical" out of a POS Toyota with the equivalent of the "automated paintball minigun turret" thingy on the back instead of some poor bastard standing behind a Ma Deuce.
