A fellow ferroequestrian!

I used to be into HO scale for some years, as in a 4 car garage that would fit one car and the trainset. Had over 700' of track on triple cab controls.
Then the water heater the floor above let go and flooded the whole thing.

*snicker*
I just have too many hobbies multiplying and not enough space.
Try craftie things: Knitting, crocheting, beading, cross stitch, and rug hooking. (Yes! I'm proud to come from a long line of happy hookers!)

Then toss in other hobbies I'm interested in:
Taxidermy, SCA fencing (fallen long to the wayside), and I've always wanted to work on a project car....
Yeah.

It's a darn good thing I don't find anything else I NEED to take up. Can I be rich when I grow up? And why doesn't the local jewlery store understand the draw of nickle plated brass??

Trains are not so bad, if you flip them every so often. I have a friend of my family who paid the down payment on his house by selling part of his train collection at a healthy profit.

And it's a Pennsy too!

Good stuff. Yeah I have to get my Lionel set started again once I get a new place.

Dale (sugarstump) is also a big Lionel nut!

The picture is a Williams trains piece.
So far I am impressed with the quality and the reasonable prices.
I have a soft spot for the Pennsy GG-1s
If I could only afford a lionel of that style I would be happy.
I also like the pre war lionel, but when you find some of that, it is priced through the roof or total basket cases (great if you restore them)

Whisker, when you get enough PB gear to tempt me, I MIGHT be willing to open up my Lionel vault.

You might not be interested, as it is all from the 30's to the 70's, but it is the combined collections belonging to me and my dad and our respective childhoods.

No need to PM me or anything about this.... you keep buying cool PB gear and I will let you know when you have tempted me...

Oh you're a dick!

I'm coming over to your house.. I have to see this... or are you the type that has everything in the box and refuse to open it for fear of ripping the cardboard and thus killing the value

Guy at the store near me is like that...a hole.... when the owner is around and not his troglydite helper he opens the boxes and hands stuff across...after 50 years of opening Lionel boxes he has it down to a science.. you can't even tell the box was opened.

Dude...

We played with our trains. Boxes are a thing of the past. This would be some seriously dusty rolling stock.

And no... you may not look inside the vault.

I'll have to stop in and check "the vault" Maybe around Christmas.
I will most likely never have enough to "temp" that type of collection from you.( I could try though)
And yes that type of collection would tempt me. I love the pre-war lionel. I am getting into the post war more and more.
