Also illegal in a lot of other places as well, so check your local laws as they would apply to you before spending any amount of money on a knife. Always sucks to order a cool and interesting blade only to find out it gets you charged the first time you pull it out in public.
How is it illegal? I got it a a store in canada. Its a single sided edge, and can not be open with by flicking and is not spring loaded. (I am just interested in how its breaking the law) I know a cop and he thought it was cool but didn't say anything about it being illegal.

Canadian Criminal Code, RSC 1985, c C-46

“prohibited weapon” means

(a) a knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife, or

(b) any weapon, other than a firearm, that is prescribed to be a prohibited weapon;
I would think your knife meets the opens automatically by centrifugal force and therefore be deemed a "prohibited weapon"

I love my Leek:

Kershaw 1660 Ken Onion Leek, Stainless Handle & Blade, Plain Blade at OutdoorPros.com

Simple and dependable. I've carried it for several years now. Holds a good edge, opens quickly, easy to clean and I wouldn't think of swapping it for anything at this point.

want an automatic knife so badly (switchblade) I used a benchmade one a while back and loved it, balanced awesomely, not too heavy or light. but then again, for some reason you can carry a gun but not a switchblade, oh well lol

Kershaw. Done. I have had a scallion attached to me everyday for almost as long as I can remember. I like the scallion over the leek only because I know a few people that ended up breaking the blade on the leek.

It doesn't open with centrifugal force, the silver slide button on the side locks it closed and open, you have to depress it to open and it's kinda stiff (I tried it at the store before buying it for that very reason) but we are getting off topic here.

I have gotten a fue knifes off of dealextream and there were ok (you get what you pay for)
