I have talked to HD mechanics who have told me this applies to large trucks/equipment, not street trucks. I have been told it does more harm than good.

That said, it really depends on what you mean by constant start/stop. Waiting for a train to go by, leave it running. Overnight, you're doing no good (unless it's -40 outside, that kinda makes sense)
