automatic transmision issues - Page 2

Under most situations there should be a Check Engine Light for a major transmission catastrophe but often, by the time they come on it's too late to do anything about it anyway.

So it made it to the garage today via tow truck. I found out only the factory key will start the car hence why it wouldn't start yesterday, so if I went down stairs to get my regular keys after pouring tranny fluid into it I could of confirmed if the tranny was fine

So the garage took a look at it and its the rad/trans cooler had the tranny inlet/outlet break off, so a new rad is going in monday then will get filled with fluid to see if it drives, if not the trans will be comming out with either a used tranny will go in or possibly a rebuild depending on the cost. At least I know now only 1 of my keys will start it and keep it running, may need to go to a dealer to get another key.

So I got my car back from the garage, turns out the tranny should be fine, just a new rad, coolant, and tranny fluid, with all the towing I'm out about $650

could of been much worse
