Batten down the hatches!

I live in Newfoundland, Canada (an island on the east coast) and it looks like we're expecting our first major winter storm of the season. Environment Canada is calling for 60+cm of snow with winds gusting up to 110km/hr over the next 24 hours. This one could get messy.

Is 60cm a lot? I'm not even sure that is a standard method of measuring. Also what the heck is a km?

I apologize, here are the conversions for my American Brothers.

60cm = 23.6"

110 km/hr = 68 miles/hr

Schools are all closing at lunchtime today and I'd say I'll be heading home early from work. More than likely everything in the city will be closed tomorrow.

I don't think so, there hasn't been a name attached to this one.
