My first attempt at a DYI mini dolly

Wanted something for some simple shots with the smartphone or DLSR. Saw a few suggestions and tried my own. With a smooth surface and some tightening, seems to be fairly decent.

Really cool little dolly. Do you have a parts list by any chance? Maybe get some more pics of it with various cameras?

Got it all at home depot. The plate is for decks (1$), the 3 wheels cost me about 1.55$ each and the screws nuts I already had, so I don't recall the exact price but you can get a pack of 6-32 screws & nuts for cheap. I have a homemade mount for my android phone but I plan on drilling out the center hole a bit bigger so I can lock down a DLSR camera. And I was also thinking for occasions you want to use something bigger like a small tripod, you can just screw down a wider board.

Cool, I've seen some amazing stuff done with inline wheels and pvc pipe... The pvc eliminates the need for a smooth surface, and really helps keep the picture stable.

But for $5... That is WAY cheaper. What are you going to use it for?

Yes! a sliding dolly will be my next test, i have some spare PVC for it.

for the wheel dolly its mostly to be used as a scaled down model to fiddle with and learn. you can also use it up and down walls for a quick climbing shot effect.
