Actually, a gripframe is an excellent idea as it gives you both the triggering mechanism and something that's already shaped to fit into your hand and hold onto.

These guys probably bought up a bunch of stock frames after ICD went out of business. Or got their hands on the specs for it and started grinding their own, it's not all that difficult to shape the aluminum we use in paintball. It's not like we use titanium or stainless steel or even tungsten carbide (tool steel).

ICD never went out of business. They just don't make new paintball markers.

So they sold off all of their old stock they couldn't sell anymore due to the SmartParts C&D.
