| That guy from Thorold! | This. Frankly as a Canadian member of this forum I find your post a little out of line. Just because we're from up north shouldn't mean we lose the right to make offers. It should also mean that sellers realize that if they say screw you Canadians then effectively they cut off a large segment of potential buyers. Not to mention the fact Titus offers 3rd part services for FREE to help on that. I don't see how it's that big of an inconvienience to you to deal with Canadians. No offense but on this one your post makes you look like an hole OP. Also to play devil's advocate us Canadians get screwed at the PO too shipping guns south of the border. When I shipped my PG to California about 6 weeks ago it cost me nearly me $40 to do it. shipping it in Canada would have been at most $15-20 so get over yourself. Some places in Canada are freakishly expensive to ship to does that mean I'm not going to do business with members in the far eastern or western portions of our country simply because our postal system jacks me around on it? NO! it means if I want what they have or they want what I have we have to deal with the cost. TL;DR Suck it up princess shipping is a cost of doing business, you have options to help out on the cost to you to get it up north and it's not like we're not getting up here either we get screwed just as bad as you do and don't bitch about it 1/2 as hard.

I understand the frustration, but you don't have to be a dick about it. Just say sorry shipping went up and move on

I know a bunch of Canadians just have post office boxes in the port city's and towns like Massena and Ogdensburg and Watertown. Its always on the news especially at Xmas that the post office is deluged with Canadian mail order and they just drive down and get it. For you Maple leafers in Ontario you should share one box and have some one drive over and pick up the items |

I don't understand why Canadians are always whining about the cross border shipping costs.

I've heard several times here, and elsewhere, that this is "the cost of doing business". I read that as "Canada is just too costly to do business with". You guys don't make up an overwhelming majority of the buying population. And if it's not convenient to grab you as a market segment, then why bother? I propose 2 options. UPS for the Canadians you don't like to do business with. Titus for the ones you do. | |

Random thought: Final price of an item = Cost of item + Shipping. Magically all extra costs of doing business with Canadians disappears! If the dude down the street wants the item, you don't charge him shipping. Guy across state wants it, you change him whatever shipping costs. Someone on the far side of the country? They pay the extra to get it to them. Someone in Canada wants it? Guess what, they pay shipping and their own taxes. |

I've always been up front about being Canadian - my first PM usually contains the words "are you ok with shipping to Canada".... From there I make an offer. If the price included shipping in the States, I'll ask if the seller is willing to split the cost of shipping, as it usually works out to the same cost for him/her once I pay the other half. If the seller won't ship to Canada, I'll attempt to work something out with 3rd party shipping - but I've never intentionally screwed anybody by deliberately not informing them where the shipping destination is. It DOES frustrate me when it says "free shipping for green members" and the seller won't even split the shipping to Canada, though....
