Well I guess we will soon find out if this clown will wind up as the martyr of the 1989 Tiananmen Square Democracy Protests... As the guy facing down the tanks was NEVER heard from again...

And in This case, I think it would be best of mr clown disappeared too...

Yeah I can't quite raise him to that level of heroism.

second he refused to comply and resisted. ( note the hands and the turn over shout)
He followed those terms. It was a PUBLIC forum. He asked questions that anyone has a right to ask. Because the university made this event open to the public and that the rules stated that any comments or questions can be addressed, this kid did nothing wrong.

As for the tasering, it was completely unlawful. Notice how the last taser shot he gets was after he turned himself over. When he turned over, he was also surrounded by 4 officers who once again has complete control of him. When the taser action actually happened they were HOLDING HIM and he was COMPLETELY STILL. He even said "dont taser me" and was not moving at all. Cop did it anyways.

It's the KID's fault he was tazered?!?!?!

Okay, I saw the movie and here's what I got from it:

The kid asked if Kerry was in the Skull and Bones with Bush at Yale. THEN for some reason the cops felt the need to end his question by taking him arms and leading him out. John Kerry even requested that the officers release him so he could answer the question. The cops got carried away dragging this kid out and the kid started asking why he was being taken away. The cops never answered his question. Eventually he starts throwing a fit wanting to know what's going on. They get FIVE cops on this kid physically holding him on the floor and putting the cuffs on. I didn't really see the cuffs on the kid but I can assume that with FIVE freakin cops on one string bean student that they could manage. They warn him to stop resisting or get tazered. Then they tazered the poor kid.

Okay here's what I see wrong with the cops in this situation:

The cops never answered a damn question the kid put up or even listened to Kerry asking to let him answer the question. They never stated why he was being arrested which is one of his rights as a US citizen. He even offered to walk out of the room. It would have been much easier to prevent a ruckus if that's what they were after to let him leave peacefully. They had FIVE cops on him and they still had to tazer him. That's just brutality. I didn't even see an offense that was punishable by being arrested. The only charge that they could come up with publicly was resisting arrest even though an arrest needs a charge to be lodged to be carried out.

What I saw wrong with the kid:

Basically he was just annoying. But I would have done the same if five cops dragged me to the ground and tazered me after I asked a question in a free forum.

Bottom line:

This is disgusting, the cops were completely out of line, What if YOU were dragged out of a place for doing nothing by a bunch of cops? Wouldn't you have done the same?

let me try to put this into perspective...

If some snooty little brat pointed an ungassed PGP @ a cop on the street at night, would the cop feel justified in shooting the brat?

How about a cop killing someone playing with an original Worlds of Wonder Black laser tag in an school yard at night because they pointed that at the cop? Yes, this really happened and that's why they changed the color of the original WoW Black L/T to white.

Public forum yes, but this place has rules -->

University spokesman Steve Orlando said Meyer was asked to leave the microphone after his allotted time was up. Meyer can be seen refusing to walk away and getting upset that the microphone was cut off.
He made the decision to ignore the rules and he made the decision to ignore the police.

You choose to make stupid decisions involving the police, then I really have NO sympathy for you.

Oh and BTW, this moron has been charged with arrested on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace:

But the State Attorney's Office has not made it decision to press those charges at this time.

The police escalated force immediately upon hearing the keywords "skull and bones". More than likely not, they were under instructions to do so upon hearing such words.

How some can't see this was a complete setup is beyond me. Nothing that the Police/Campus Police would have done would have come off in a positive light. The kid has a history of this type of thing and planned it before he even arrived at the event.

Anyone who thinks the kid didn't escalate the situation and force security's hand is just not wanting to look the truth of the matter. Seeing the tape from when he first took the mic and then when he was finally removed HE escalated the situation in every step. HE didn't obey polite and gentle attempts by security to remove him from the situation.

The kid is a professional activist and knew what he was doing. And he was NOT under control at the point of him being tazered. You can even continue to resist and outright FIGHT when fully cuffed and even in leg irons, so folks need to not think that him appearing to be "under control" is as it may have seemed. I certainly didn't see it that way at all.

Should he have been tazered? I say NO.

He should have been tackled by the biggest officers they had immediately and physically removed with no attempt at being polite to him at all. This was not a free speech issue. This was not an abuse of force issue. This was an issue where a kid went in knowing he was going to ignore the rules, escalate the situation, and then cry victim. And if that was not bad enough, bleeding hearts are crying along with him.... no matter how clear it was that it was planned, staged, and then flawlessly executed to get attention and nothing more.

This was a complete setup, and the kid got exactly what he wanted. And WHEN he was tazed he was screaming like a stuck pig. Please. Tazing will drop you to the floor, but not revert you to a little baby. He wanted what he got. Hell, the video was up only an hour later on HIS website.

And the kid is known for pulling stunts they're now saying.

Now if the police used live ammo... Well that would have stopped everything..

"And Mr. Kerry, about skull and bones..."

KABLAM!!!!

Police officer: "Anyone else going to get out of line in here?"

News just out:

Police report student told them: 'You didn't do anything wrong'

GAINESVILLE - Police have released the incident report detailing the Tasering of a University of Florida student during a campus forum with Sen. John Kerry Monday, and the officer who actually Tasered Andrew Meyer wrote in the report that Meyer later told police, "You didn't do anything wrong."

...

"As (Meyer) was escorted down stairs (at the University Auditorium) with no cameras in sight, he remained quiet, but once the cameras made their way down stairs he started screaming and yelling again," Mallo wrote.

From the words out of Kerry's mouth...let him speak....Kerry wanted to debate the kid...so why was he taken away?...I'm sorry but I see both sides at fault in one form or another...but Kerry said on TV that he asked for the debate to go on...the cops report that the kid said they didn't do anything wrong(of course?)...in the end it's a sad day for free speech, funny day for youtube.
