It was more a 80's cultural icon not because of the fact that is was a 80s car but becaue it was in the Back To The Future Series. It was actually pretty bad as a car.
Yeah, I know it's more of an icon. Same with the Ferrari Daytona Spider from Miami Vice (and the Testarossa later on), the Trans Am from Knight Rider, the Kawasaki Ninja GPZ900R from Top Gun... etc.
My neighbor's has one parked in his driveway under a cover for as far as I can remember. I don't know why he hasn't sold it or actually driven it.
